The time has come to say good-bye to Patricia, our American assistant.
Elle nous a permis de découvrir sa culture américaine et de nous familiariser avec son accent New-Yorkais. Nous avons passé de très bons moments avec elle, notamment le jour de son anniversaire !

The class of 3e2 and 3e3 studied the story of Frankenstein in class and read a modern adapted version of it.
At first they didn’t like the idea of reading a book and... in English, but in the end they liked it.
On December 18th, a reading contest was organised. The groups were mixed up and the pupils had fun trying to answer the questions they had made up.
All the groups tried hard to win the first prize and on Tuesday, 4th January, M. Lambry, Mrs. (…) -

This year we are very lucky to welcome Tori, our new language assistant. She’ll be with us co-teaching groups until April 2016.
The euro sections decided to celebrate Christma with her and organised parties.
While the 4eme euro decided to bring only Alsacian specialities so that she could taste our local christmas cookies. Tori prepared a quiz on American (…) -

Yesterday was a gorgeous day at the South Stack Cliffs. The landscape was unbelievable and the fauna and flora very specific. We even got the chance to see a seal ! The pupils got really involved in their water colours.
Then we headed toward the Caernafon Castle where we were lucky enough to go into the educational room and try on a replica of Edward 1st crown.
Today is already our last day, we are heading toward Chester again for the quiz,the (…) -
Fairy Tales...with a twist !
19 mars 2015, par Jennifer Luscher[marron]The 4ème1, 4ème2 and 4ème4 forms participated in a competition in which they had to re-write a famous fairy tale. Each class voted for their best contestants, and then they elected their favourite fairy tale among the three finalists !
Congratulations to Alizée Leclève and Laure Steinmetz who won the competition with their version of The Little Mermaid ![/marron]

News from Wales...

Quick news from our trip ! We are doing fine and we have been really busy so far.
We had a first rainy day in Chester, England, where we lived a Roman experience. Then we visited the cathedral where everybody (teachers included !) took their pencils and paper and started drawing details of the building. Then we went to Colwyn bay, where we met our host families. They were very welcoming and everybody was really happy !
Today we went to Llechweed Caverns where we visited (…) -
Valentine’s day Poetry Competition !
16 mars 2015, par Jennifer LuscherA l’occasion de la St Valentin, les élèves du collège ont pu participer à un concours de poésie en anglais !
Le but : fabriquer une jolie carte, comme le veut la tradition en Angleterre et aux États-Unis, et écrire le poème le plus touchant ou le plus original sur le thème de la St Valentin !
L’ensemble des professeurs et du personnel s’est ensuite mobilisé pour voter pour leurs cartes préférées.
Un grand merci à tous les participants, et félicitations aux vainqueurs de chaque niveau ! -

The Big Challenge 2014
5 juillet 2014, par Astrid FranceThe Big Challenge Contest took place on the 13th of May 2014 in Collège de la Souffel and in 2653 other schools at the same time in France !
49 students in 6° and 26 students in 5° participated in our school. They had 45 minutes to answer a quiz of 54 questions and they did pretty well !
The results were given to the participants on the 20th of June. Many prizes were distributed such as diplomas, T-shirts, posters, flags, books, DVDs, magazines, earrings...

One year of reading contest
30 juin 2014, par Ann-Katherine DieboldTout au long de cette année scolaire les élèves de 3ème EURO anglais ont participé a un défi lecture avec les 3ème EURO anglais du Collège du Kochesberg à Truchtersheim. Ce partenariat a ainsi permis à cette petite cinquantaine d’élèves de lire 3 œuvres issues de la culture anglophone : "Matilda" de R. Dahl, "the Wizard of OZ" et "Oliver Twist" de C. Dickens. Mais cela leur aura également donné l’occasion d’aller à la rencontre d’autres collégiens et d’échanger sur leur parcours scolaire. (…)
